Nominated in South West Tourism Awards
Following our success in the Cornwall Tourism Awards, by winning Gold in the Large Hotel of the Year, we are delighted to announce that we have been nominated in the same category at the South West Tourism Awards.
The last 12 months have been unprecedented within the hospitality industry and to know we have been recognised and nominated by fellow professionals is such a fantastic achievement for the Carlyon Bay Hotel, as we approach the reopening of the hotel following the latest lockdown.
Owned by the Brend family since 1982, the Carlyon Bay is spectacularly situated in 250 acres of stunning coastal location and the wealth of facilities available to all hotel residents included within their stay makes the hotel second to none against any other in the South West. Continuous investment by the Brend family ensures that the hotel remains at the pinnacle of the wide range of large hotels on offer not just in the South West but the UK.
2020 saw the complete refurbishment of the Terrace Lounge & Bar areas complimenting the spectacular terrace with bars at both ends that wouldn't look out of place in iconic worldwide destinations, all designed with our art-deco heritage in mind.
Renovations continued throughout the end of 2020 and into 2021 with a number of bedrooms undergoing refurbishment along with other improvements in front of house areas and on the golf course, as well as major investment & upgrades to back of house projects all designed to improve the comfort and enjoyment of our guests.
Massive changes were undertaken to ensure that the hotel reopened in a Covid-Secure way and this was shown with awards given to us by the AA, and Visit Britain. We are currently undergoing assessment by Quality in Tourism which should we achieve will continue to show that we always have the safety & well-being of our guests & staff as our number 1 priority.
The changes operationally that were made following the Covid-19 pandemic were designed with safety being paramount but were implemented in a way that did not detriment our guests' experience. Feedback has been that the exceptionally high standard of service, professionalism, and enjoyment that the Carlyon Bay Hotel is renowned for throughout the South West remains.
