Brend Bear Adventures - Geocaching

In partnership with the South West Coast Path Association, Brend Hotel's has hidden five brand-new geocaches on the Coast Path for you to find, near our coastal hotels in Devon and Cornwall – Saunton Sands Hotel & The Barnstaple Hotel in North Devon, The Victoria Hotel in Sidmouth, and the Royal Duchy and Carlyon Bay in Cornwall.

Can you find it? Get involved with the world's largest treasure hunt!

We are delighted to announce that our bear John is joining Peter and Richard on the South West Coast Path! He has taken a wonder along the coastal path near us, and is waiting for you to find him. We have already have had movement from the Saunton bear and can't wait to see where the next adventures take them.

What is Geocaching and how can you get involved?

Geocaching is a fun outdoor activity for all ages, where participants use GPS tracking to hide and seek containers called ‘geocaches’ or ‘caches’ for short, at locations all over the planet. Each time a geocache is found, the geocacher (you!) records their find on the geocaching app and signs the logbook inside the cache, proving that they found it. After signing the log, the cache is placed back exactly where the person found it.

Somewhere hidden along the South West Coast paths (near Saunton Sands, the Barnstaple Hotel & Carlyon Bay Hotel) we have released one of five very special Brend Hotels ‘hitchhikers’. The Brend Bears: Percy, Florence, John, Peter and Richard, plus an iconic National Trail geocoin. Our geocoins & Brend Bears can travel from cache to cache along the South West Coast Path and are competing against each other to ‘check in’ at the most Brend Hotels.

When you find a Brend Bear, please take a photo! Share on the Brend Hotels Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using #BrendBearAdventures & #CoastpathGeocaching, or post them on your profile and tag @southwestcoastpath and @brendhotels with the hashtags.
