The Brend Collection is proud to announce an exciting charity challenge in support of Children’s Hospice South West - an organisation dedicated to helping make the most of short and precious lives across the South West.
In a test of endurance, teamwork, and determination, The Carlyon Bay Hotel will go head-to-head with the Royal Duchy Hotel in an unforgettable race along the stunning South West Coast Path. Both teams will set off with one goal: to reach each other’s hotel before their rivals - all while raising as much money as possible for this incredible cause.
Every Step Counts
Covering an estimated eight-hour walking route, this is no easy feat. The dramatic Cornish coastline will provide a breathtaking backdrop, but the challenge ahead is not for the faint-hearted. There will be sweat, there may be tears, but above all, there will be unwavering determination.
Leading the charge from the start, Holly and Mark will set the pace, while Sean and James prepare for what promises to be a thrilling final dash to the finish line. It’s set to be a true battle of perseverance - and perhaps, finally, an answer to the long-standing in-house rivalry: which hotel really has the better team?
More than just a competition, this event is about coming together to support families and children who need it most. Every step taken is a step towards making a difference.

The Carlyon Bay Hotel
Competing for The Carlyon Bay Hotel, we have Holly, Senior Assistant Manager, and Sean, Head Porter. A strong combination of leadership and determination, they’ll be setting out to prove they’ve got what it takes to go the distance. All eyes will be on this dynamic duo as they push themselves to the limit for a fantastic cause.
The Royal Duchy Hotel
Representing the Royal Duchy Hotel, we have Mark, Food & Beverage Manager, and James, Head Porter. Bringing together stamina, teamwork, and a competitive edge, this duo will be determined to make their mark on the coast path. They’ll be giving it everything they’ve got for an incredible cause.
