Brend Hotels are always striving to do more and ever improve our carbon footprint, reduce our plastic waste and protect the wonderful planet that we call home. With sustainability always at the forefront of our minds, our teams have been looking at all areas of our business to see where we can improve our carbon footprint. One thing that we saw as a top priority was the use of Plastic Bags within our hotels.

Brend Hotels core values are providing luxury and taking care of our guests every last need and sometimes that involves needing a bag. Not wanting to lose this touch, our teams started looking into other alternatives to plastic bags, this is when we discovered Sugar Cane.

Our new plastic-free bags are made from sugar cane and are 100% recyclable, biodegradable and carbon neutral. This means it’s made with less impact on the planet and when we’re done with it, it has less impact on the planet - result! The material will break down in as little as 12 - 24 weeks, all you have to do, once you’re finished with the bag, is pop it into your plastic recycling bag.
