Bedroom refurbishments, awards nominations and golf course renovations

As we approach 6 weeks into the latest national lockdown and with the first signs of daffodils and camellias appearing in the extensive grounds we are reminded that spring is just around the corner with all the hope and positivity the new season brings. 

Embracing this we are delighted to share with you some very good news regarding the hotel, we are very proud and delighted to announce that we have been selected as a finalist in the Large Hotel of the Year category at the Cornwall Tourism Awards for 2020. The Awards have been running for 19 years and showcase all that is great and good across all tourism businesses in the county and we feel this is a great acknowledgment of the the hard work and diligence of all the team at Carlyon Bay.

Awards day will held be on the 25th of February and hope you will wish us well, we will of course keep you updated as the results come in.

More silver linings have been happening on the golf course, Course Manager Steve working with Head Greenkeeper Mark and their team have been working hard on projects redesigning the 1st tee and landscaping the 6th tee on the Championship golf course. Their hard work by extending the tee areas allows for less wear during the winter period ensuring that the course will remain in top condition as the new playing season starts and moving forwards.

Our ongoing efforts within the hotel have also been going ahead with an extensive program of bedroom refurbishments to ensure the continued comfort for our guests. In addition, much investment has been made in new greener heating and hot water systems providing comfort and less impact on the environment. Improvements have also been undertaken within the kitchen & spa areas and will continue as we move closer to reopening.

With Cornwall being showcased weekly on national television programmes as well as hosting the G7 summit in June, our reservations team continue to be busy and are here for you daily to take your booking or to answer any of your queries. Once we have a date to reopen we will be ready to welcome you back with the usual warm hospitality and the professionalism that we are known for.
