Carlyon Bay Golf Course reopens

Update 29th May 2020

We are delighted to inform all our members that as of Monday 1st June 2020 we are making the following improvements:

  • Up to 4-ball tee times are allowed. Any bookings must still adhere to the Government guidelines
  • The toilet on the 13th tee will be open for members to use if required 
  • The practice area will reopen with marked bays between 8 am & 5 pm daily

Please ensure that all safety guidelines that are in place are followed and ensure at all times social distancing measures are adhered to.

A risk assessment has been undertaken to ensure the safety and well-being of our members & staff in compliance with government regulations and allow members to enjoy the golf course, whilst minimising the risk to anyone contracting Covid-19. As stated in Government guidelines, golf can be recreational at the moment and no competitions allowed with a reduced number of players on the course and in the car park. We have also followed the English Golf Union & the PGA guidelines to allow our members to enjoy the course.

Please ensure that the following are adhered to by all members to ensure play safe, stay safe protocols are followed:

Government Rules:

  • Any member showing symptoms of Covid-19 must not visit the golf course
  • All players must follow the Government rules concerning social distancing and maintain a distance of two metres between themselves and other people they encounter at the club
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth as much as possible
  • If you cough or sneeze do so into a disposable tissue or the crook of your arm so as to avoid spreading germs
  • Please bring your own hand sanitiser
  • Stay Alert & Stay Safe

General Information:

  • The golf course & car park is only open if you want to play golf
  • The practice ground is open between 8 am and 5 pm daily and please follow the guidance
  • The putting green remains closed until further notice
  • The golf clubhouse, terrace, changing rooms & toilet facilities remain closed until further notice. If you have clubs/equipment stored in the changing rooms they will need to be collected at a pre-arranged time by calling the Pro Shop on 01726 814228 and cannot be placed back in the locker
  • The toilet is available on the 13th tee for members should it be required, please follow the guidelines in place
  • Tee times must be booked in advance and roll-up play is not permitted
  • The Pro shop will be manned between 8 am & 5 pm daily and tee times can be booked with Grant on 01726 814228
  • Tee times can be booked via BRS Golf and are only available between 8 am & 5 pm daily. If you require a login or password reminder, please email golf@carlyonbay.com with your full name
  • A maximum of 4 balls per tee-time can be booked and both players must be members and both members need to be stated on the tee time
  • All bins, benches will be out of use and so please take home any rubbish once you have finished your round
  • Currently, there is no equipment hire including buggies or trolleys available
  • A hand sanitising station is in place by the 1st tee
  • Tee bookings will be monitored to ensure that all members will be able to enjoy a round of golf with a maximum of 3 bookings per member per 7 day period
  • Members can only book tee-times if their membership has been fully paid up

Arrival at the Golf Club:

  • Please do not arrive prior to 10 minutes before your tee-time and if you do, please remain in your car
  • Where possible, please leave a car park space between you and the next car to ensure social distancing can be implemented
  • Please go to the Club Office Window to register prior to your tee-time and follow the one-way system that is in place

Playing:

  • Scorecards will not be available
  • Use only your clubs
  • All bunker rakes have been removed, please use your foot or club to smooth over for following players
  • Ball cleaners have been covered and benches have been taped off
  • Normal Rules of Etiquette apply if you are holding players up, but please ensure social distancing is adhered to
  • Handrails remain in place and please wipe down if used
  • A one-way system is in place as you leave the course
  • On completion of your round, please vacate the car park immediately
