Emily Toys story...
England International Emily Toy has been a member of Carlyon Bay Golf Club since she joined as a Junior back in 2012. We are immensely proud to be able to watch such an accomplished young lady progress.
Emily’s story so far:
2010 Age 12
- Represented Cornwall for the 1st time in the Junior Inter-Counties Jamboree
2013 Age 15
- Youngest ever Cornwall Ladies Golf Champion
- Member of the Cornwall Ladies 1st team
- Selected for the England Golf South West Birdie Squad
2014 Age 16
- Retained the title of Cornwall Ladies Golf Champion
- Junior Cornwall County Champion
2015 Age 17
- South West U18 Girls Champion
- England U18 Girls Champion
- 1st cap for England - England U18 Home Internationals winning team
- Selected for the England Golf South West U18 Squad
2016 Age 18
- Selected for England Golf AASE programme
2017 Age 19
- BUCS Northern Champion – 1st win representing Exeter University
- R&A Scholars Champion – winning a place on the Ladies European Tour in Abu Dhabi
2018 Age 20
- BUCS English & Welsh Champion
- Tied top Amateur in the LETAccess WPGA International Challenge
2019 Age 21
- Selected for England Golf’s Women’s Squad
- New South Wales Ladies Strokeplay Champion
- Crowned winner of the Ladies Amateur Champion
Ladies Amateur Champion
In June 2019, Emily was crowned 116th Ladies Amateur Champion!
Aged just 21, she defeated Amelia Garvey by one hole in the 18-hole final over the renowned links on the east coast of Northern Ireland.
Becoming the first English player to win the title since 2013, she sealed a spot in the AIG Women’s British Open at Woburn in August thanks to her triumph.
Emily also gained exemptions into the 2019 Evian Championship, as well as next year’s US Women’s Open and the Augusta National Women's Amateur Championship.
