Nominated for Best Large Hotel of the Year
We are delighted to have been nominated once again in the Large Hotel of the Year category in the Cornwall Tourism Awards.
Whilst 2020 has been a year that none of us can forget we are proud that we have been nominated by fellow industry professionals in this award.
The family-run Carlyon Bay Hotel is spectacularly situated in 250 acres of stunning coastal location and the numerous facilities within the hotel is second to none in Cornwall and continue to be improved and added to through continued investment of the Brend family.
2020 started with the full refurbishment of the ground floor lounge & bar areas, inspired by our Art Deco heritage. Fitted with two stand-out bars at either end that wouldn’t be out of place in some of the world's most iconic locations, we’ve still retained all the quality and comfort our guests have come to expect, featuring handmade British furniture in a new modern color palette and artwork inspired by the breathtaking 180 degree sea view.
Once we reopened in July the hotel had implemented numerous operational changes to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, yet consistently we received exceptional feedback from all our guests stating that the hotel still retained its exceptional high level of service and enjoyment of their holidays. This nomination has shown that the hotel continues to go from strength to strength and can still excel in the circumstances that 2020 presented.
Lastly, the Brend family would like to thank all of the staff for their support and effort through 2020 as without them this nomination would not have been possible.
